Juvenile Justice Performance Metrics

Safety, accountability, fairness and effectiveness are the guiding principles of New York State's juvenile justice system, as established in the state's strategic plan for juvenile justice, Safe Communities Successful Youth: A Shared Vision for the New York State Juvenile Justice System. These reports provide data regarding the juvenile justice system's performance toward full realization of these guiding principles. They capture a wide range of data including juvenile arrests, racial breakdown of arrests, cases under probation supervision, number of youths under the custody of the state Office of Children and Family Services, and Family Court case processing. Data are available for New York State, New York City, the 57 counties outside of New York City and by county.
